2013 Summer Favorites!

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying your week! As we settle into summer, I thought I would share with you my current summer favorites. These are all items I've been using non stop, on repeat :)

1. Healthy Sexy Hair: Soy Touchable Weightless Hairspray - This baby holds your hair without the "crunch", the potent hairspray smell or the nasty chemicals...what's not to love?
2. Twistband: "Raspberry", "Navy blue" - No more painful pulls, awkward dents or damage to the hair! I also have their head bands which are great for workouts. 
3. Vaseline: Spray & Go in Pure Aloe - Light but moisturizing, perfect for summer. Just spray on and it's quickly absorbed, making your daily routine so much faster and efficient. 
4. Simple: Cleansing Facial Wipes - Removes makeup, cleanses my face, plus it's gentle and kind to the skin. 
5. H&M: nail polish in "Norwegian Sky" (similar) - A fresh dose of minty color to pretty up your nails this summer :)
6. Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color in "Petal Rebel" - Such a pretty shade of translucent baby pink. Yes please!  
7. Revlon: lip butter in "Pink Lemonade" - A beautiful mixture of light pink and coral (just as the name suggests), goes on buttery soft and super moisturizing. 
8. BaubleBar: Cerise Jumbo Bloom Bib - Such a happy and cheerful necklace! Adds a nice pop of color to any summer outfit.  
9. Avene: Thermal Spring Water - Absolutely in love with this! Any time I need a refresher in the heat, this baby soothes and hydrates with pure water from the French alps.  
10. L'Oreal: Sublime Sunscreen Oil Spray SPF 50+ - This summer, I am all about the sprays :) I love how it dispenses so easily from the spray bottle. It's non-greasy, has a high SPF protection and the best part?...It smells great, not your average sun block! 
11. BaubleBar: String Fling bracelets -  Too cute and so great for layering. Bring on the arm paaaarty....yay!
12. DVF: Sun glasses (also loving this) - this pair is an oldie but a goodie. My everyday go-to sunnies that goes with literally any thing I wear, and a great shield from the bright sun. 
13. VitaCoco: Pure Coconut Water with Pineapple - I don't love drinking water, but thanks to the infinite supply at work, this baby has been my go-to drink for the summer. It's all natural, incredibly hydrating, nutrient packed and tastes delish! What more could you ask for?

Soft Lilac & Blushing Pinks

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! Hope you had a fabulous weekend and a great start to the week! My weekend was super relaxed, filled with shopping in the village, a picnic at Battery park with great company and an awesome home cooked seafood brunch. For easy weekends like these, I love to match it with a cute outfit that's also comfortable. I layered on a touch of glamour just cos I cannot resist a beautiful floral bib :-P

Summer Romper, Short & Sweet

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great Tuesday! Over the weekend, I went to check out Williamsburg. Williamsburg is a culturally diverse and colorful neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Even though I have been there a number of times, previous visits have always been hurried, leaving no time to do any decent exploration. So, this time I made sure I did just that! I walked, I saw, I tasted and experienced to my heart's content :) In the heat of summer, this cute little romper was the perfect acompaniment to stroll around town.

Strappy Neon with High-Low Dress

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic Independence Day long weekend, and enjoyed taking some time off to relax and unwind. I went to see the Macy's fireworks and would highly recommend getting there early if you are keen to get a great spot, and don't fancy starring into the back of some tall guy's head. We didn't manage to leave the house early enough, so we were trapped in a sea of bodies, which at this time of the year, is really not a great idea. But, I was still happy just to be part of the action. I love a good show, and fireworks usually tops the chart! :)

C'est La Vie

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! The weather has been a bit of a downer lately. Scattered showers and sporadic thunderstorms mixed with high humidity = wet, sweaty and sticky. This makes the commute to and from work everyday very unpleasant :( To overcome this and stay comfortable in the heat, I decided to throw on a breathable cotton tee and added a punch of much needed color. Besides, "c'est la vie" is exactly the right attitude to kick off the long weekend, rain or shine!

The One Hit Wonder

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! Hope you are having a great day! NYC is super hot today; summer is indeed here! Weather like this makes me wish that I was at a beach resort, sipping cocktails and chilling out by the pool. Instead, I battled through the heat and crowded streets of NYC on my way to work. This weather calls for a vacation outfit. I may not be lying on the beach of a fancy island somewhere far far away, but having the right frame of mind is good enough for now :)

Boston in a Day: The Freedom Trail

Hi everyone! Charlo and I recently went to Boston where she was busy saving the fashion world, one stylish piece of jewelry at a time ;).  I on the other hand, took this opportunity to take what I like to call a photo safari in Boston; an attempt to capture the people, architecture and landscapes of a place...the only question was, where to start?  I discovered The Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile (~4km), brick-lined walk that takes you through some of the most important points of the American Revolution.

Summer Skort with Happy Baroque

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Hope you managed to stay dry today. With summer fast approaching, I was out on the hunt for a pair of super comfy and cute shorts. My search quickly came to a pleasant end when I discovered this pair of playful skorts...the happy marriage of shorts and skirt :) It is perfect for the warmer weather and I absolutely adore the pretty origami cut at the front! I loved it so much that it didn't take me long before getting another pair in black.

Tropical Paradise

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a fabulous week! Over the Memorial Day long weekend, I went to Miami to soak up some tropical weather and enjoy the beautiful sandy beach! The weather was as expected...just delightful. It was warm and breezy during the day and by night, it cools down to the perfect temperature for a yummy cocktail by the pool and watch the sun set over the horizon. Gorgeous tropical weather calls for a vibrant and happy dress. I wore this silky, floral cutie during the day to stroll around town and then switched to a pair of pumps for a dinner date with friends at night. She was great company, and very complementary to beautiful Miami :)

The Perfect Skirt...

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great start to the week! I'm sorry posting has been a little slow lately. I recently started a new role and the hours have been a little crazy, but I'm enjoying the work and my team is super nice, which makes it that much more pleasant! :)

Today, I want to share with you one of my all time favorite wardrobe pieces...the perfect skirt. I'm sure in every girl's closet, there is that one gem (or a few, if you are super lucky ;)) that is dearly loved, greatly treasured and only makes a special appearance on those super important occasions. For me, it's this stunning Oscar de la Renta skirt...an absolute classy lady!

Checkmate!

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week! I've noticed a lot of checkerboard print in the shops lately and was intrigued to experiment with this trend. When I first spotted this print on clothing, I wasn't really sure how I felt towards it or even how I should wear it, but I was definitely very interested  in trying this slightly unconventional pattern.
