Strappy Neon with High-Low Dress

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic Independence Day long weekend, and enjoyed taking some time off to relax and unwind. I went to see the Macy's fireworks and would highly recommend getting there early if you are keen to get a great spot, and don't fancy starring into the back of some tall guy's head. We didn't manage to leave the house early enough, so we were trapped in a sea of bodies, which at this time of the year, is really not a great idea. But, I was still happy just to be part of the action. I love a good show, and fireworks usually tops the chart! :)

Over the weekend, I decided to revisit one of my all time favorites - the high-low. There is really no better time than summer to bring out that cute little high-low dress/skirt. I find that they move in unconventional ways, and create a more dynamic outfit. Not to mention elongating your silhouette!

Last year, I was in love with this pretty little green high-low skirt, see post here. She was perfect for a cheerful day time look. This year, I decided to do more of a night time appropriate high-low dress. Playing with just black, I toughened the look with some metal elements. I wore her to dinner one night and was beyond thrilled with the level of comfort and the ease of movement. When you live in a city that gets as humid as NYC in summer, comfort is a top priority for me.

Normally, I prefer lighter and fresher colors for summer, but black is just so classy and a fabulous canvas to do whatever you like. In my case? Well, a pop of neon here and there to invigorate the entire look. Besides, a little bit of strappy neon made everyone smile :)

Happy Monday friends!
