The Teal Deal

Hi Everyone! Hope you are enjoying yourself and having some fun at the moomba festival during this long  weekend. I must admit, it has been a while since I last went on one of those rides, but the fireworks are always a crowd pleaser at the end of the night. During one of my recent shopping trips, I picked up this teal blazer. The fabric is relatively light weight, perfect for transitional seasons and I just adore the black silk lapels. I think that was the selling point for me. Since taking her home I have not regretted the decision, as the colour and the style of the blazer are surprisingly versatile in pairing.

The Battle Between Chambray & Denim

Hi Everyone! Happy Thursday! Now that the rain is over and the sun's out again, I decided to pull out my soft washed chambray shirt the other day, and added on a pair of hot pink jeans to brighten the overall look. I love denim, but good denim anything is hard to come by. Ever since denim came back into fashion, I have been on the look out for a great denim shirt, but was not convinced that the stiffness or toughness of the material would be comfortable. It didn't take long before I solved this problem with a chambray shirt =)

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!! As we say good bye to summer, we welcome autumn, the season that marks the transition from summer into winter. I love all four seasons, but in particular, transitional seasons. Autumn colours are usually very rich, vibrant and textured, and the temperature around this time of the year is at a perfect balance of warmth and coolness. If you have a slightly more formal occasion to attend this weekend, the million dollar question "hmm...what should I wear?..." may have surfaced. With the recent rise of the LWD (Little White Dress), it appears that our beloved LBD (Little Black Dress) may have been slightly neglected and perhaps forgotten? Well, I certainly have not, and after so many years, it still is a favourite in my wardrobe.

I have noticed for a little while now that young female professionals have started the adoption of smart casuals over the once classic suiting combo. What was once a common clothing affair everyday, has been taken over by cute colourful blouses, smart casual blazers and pretty little skirts. Please don't get me wrong, I love the fact that us girls can get away with semi casual ensembles everyday, whilst most of our boys can't; and the fact that there are so many options and varieties to choose from for work.

Now, when it comes to the colour red, I am extremely picky. The shade must be just perfect to get my tick of approval. Too often, it is too dark, too light, too loud, too muted...omg, the list goes on. As you can see, the selection process was stringent and thus for the longest time, my wardrobe was red pants-less.

Hi everyone! Hope Monday has been treating you well! First day back from the weekend is usually a little harder, until we get back into the routine and charge on for the rest of the week. Today was an exciting day for me, as my team celebrated our first major milestone in launching a new product into the market. We are beginning to see the fruits of our labour! As we prepare ourselves for further battles ahead, I can't help but  wonder how we sometimes rely on fashion and clothing to project confidence. Whether it is the way the product makes us feel or the actual visual impact it creates, from time to time, we all need that extra boost to help and carry us through.  And there is no better boost than some power shoulder action!

Flower Power Blouse

Hi Everyone! I've had such a hectic week and am definitely looking forward to winding down over the weekend. Hope your week has been a little more manageable than mine :)

If I do an analysis of my wardrobe, I would conclude that I am definitely a blouse girl through and through. Having said that, during the earlier years of my working life, I loved shirts. I adored the clean silhouette they projected. Closely fitted to the body, crisp collars and cuffs are a must for me, in order to maintain an overall polished and professional look. However, over the years, my wardrobe and taste began to deviate away from the traditional corporate shirting range. One silk blouse at a time, the ratio of blouse vs shirt has shifted.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! True to Melbourne's reputation of having four seasons in one day, we had a crazy Sunday that was filled with gale force wind, rain and sunshine. We were out having Sunday brunch and literally after snapping some shots, the sky opened and down came the rain. But all is well in the end when the sun broke through and finally poked its cheerful face to greet us.

Working Neutral Colours with the McQueen Scarf

Hi Everyone! Hope you've all had a fantastic day! The temperature in Melbourne has cooled down a little over the past week, and this was exciting for me as I find dressing for work in cooler weather is a lot easier than dressing for scorching temperature.

I pulled out my Alexander McQueen skull scarf today and decided that today will be the day for a bit of scarf action! :) You should never underestimate the power of a scarf. It is effortlessly chic and elegant. When you choose the right colour combinations with a refined texture such as silk,  and tie it around your neck or even tie it on your bag, the look is classic and will never go out of style.
