Let's Get Active!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!! As we say good bye to summer, we welcome autumn, the season that marks the transition from summer into winter. I love all four seasons, but in particular, transitional seasons. Autumn colours are usually very rich, vibrant and textured, and the temperature around this time of the year is at a perfect balance of warmth and coolness. A fantastic time of the year to launch your active workout plan! =)
Staying active and incorporating regular exercise into our lifestyle is vital to our health and well being. Many people often complain about workout sessions, and make a variety of excuses not to do it. I have often wondered if finding the right things to wear during workouts, and looking great while you sweat, would motivate people to be more active? I have always thought that we should be able to find a happy medium between practicality, functionality and aesthetics for active wear. Daggy gym gear should not be associated with a workout session!

Recently, I asked my super fit and beautiful friend Sarah to come and model her bright, fitness-friendly tops and bottoms. These super cute active wear are very practical, and are built with the intention of providing the wearer with the right support during a workout session. The best part is...with colours that bright and cheerful, people are more than happy to go for a work out in them! =)

Sarah also freely shared with me her obsession with sports wear. I had a giggle when she showed me the amount of active wear she has stashed in her closet. I'm always so happy to find passionate people and she is one immensely dedicated individual to staying fit and healthy.

Some tips Sarah shared with me in finding the right fitness gear is to consider the sporting activities that you will be doing. Always try them on to ensure they fit comfortably and that you can move freely in them. Breathable material is another important factor to consider. Clothing made out of fabrics containing polypropylene or fabrics such as COOLMAX® and SUPPLEX® are a good choice for exercise, as they allow the sweat to be evaporated from the skin rather than soak the clothing and leave you feeling sweaty and uncomfortable. Never wear clothing made out of rubber-based or plastic-based materials. These materials prevent sweat from evaporating and keep your body temperature too high during a workout. Finally, have some fun in choosing your workout gear; go with pops of colour, inspirational/motivational words, and anything that will bring a smile to your face when you workout.

Let's face it, a workout session is hard, finding the motivation to workout is even tougher, having a collection of cute, fun, bright and practical workout gear can give you the support you need during a workout session, and an extra motivational boost to stay active! Who says fashion cannot be mixed with sport? Happy gymming everyone!
