Bringing Back LBD with Pops of Colour

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! With Friday and the weekend in sight, no doubt some of us will be thinking about what to wear to the various weekend social calendar events. If you have a slightly more formal occasion to attend this weekend, the million dollar question "hmm...what should I wear?..." may have surfaced. With the recent rise of the LWD (Little White Dress), it appears that our beloved LBD (Little Black Dress) may have been slightly neglected and perhaps forgotten? Well, I certainly have not, and after so many years, it still is a favourite in my wardrobe.

Since Coco Chanel introduced it in 1926, the LBD has become the epitome of effortless style and timeless fashion. It may have gone through various revisions over the years, let it be the hemline, shoulder, strap or fabric variations; but its essence remained unchanged. We love the flattering silhouette it creates, its versatility and suitability to the majority of world's female population, no matter what shape, size or colour you are. For all these reasons and more, in almost every girl's closet, there is that perfect one (or few) LBD =)
What I appreciate the most from the LBD is the freedom to dress it how you want it. Being ubiquitous at every social occasion, you can do so much with a LBD. Dress it up, dress it down, go wild with make-up, add some sparkles, sequence, accessories, colours (hopefully not all together =P)...and voila! You created your own take of the LBD. I absolutely adore the classic lines of a LBD, its simplicity is the perfect canvas for me to "paint" and incorporate bursts of colours.
In the notoriously fickle fashion industry, categorized by impossibly transient trends; the LBD remains perhaps the most popular fashion item ever conceived and  is one of the few constants. It has firmly entrenched as the cornerstone of our wardrobes. So, embrace your LBD...if in doubt, pull it out!
