Chic Cropped Leather Jacket

Hi everyone! Happy Easter Monday! Hope you are all having a fabulous Easter, filled with chocolates, hot cross buns, plenty of good food, company and laughs. Over Easter, I invited my beautiful friend Sarah to guest star in this post. She graciously accepted my invite and brought over her leather jacket to share on the blog. For the longest time, I have been searching for that perfect leather jacket. To this day, sadly...the quest is still not over. In the mean time, I am delighted have Sarah's help and show you what wonders a beautiful leather jacket can do for you in the wardrobe department.

Leather is made from animal skin, and one of the strongest and toughest animal skin is from the cow. The use of animal skin in clothing is not really a phenomenon, and dates all the way back to the beginning of mankind.  Back then, men hunted for survival, and the skin of the animal was used for many things including "clothing" (I use this term loosely as cavemen were not that civilised back in the day, but they did need to wear something to protect them from the elements).
Since then, the material hasn't changed too much, but the treatment of it has evolved massively. So why is leather clothing in particular such a popular choice, and remained so over time? It's probably not just because it is indicative of wealth and status, or because it has always been a popular feature in Vogue. One of the biggest reasons for leather's popularity is its special property of being both soft and tough at the same time. We love materials that are not only soft and flexible, but can also keep us warm, as well as being incredibly durable (if properly taken care of).
When Sarah took out her cropped leather jacket, I couldn't stop patting it! =P It is just so luxuriously supple and feels amazingly butter soft against my hands. If you don't own any leather apparel, acquiring a leather jacket is a sensible first investment. There is no other outerwear item that can match its attitude and versatility. Since the leather jacket can be a major investment, stretch your dollars by choosing a timeless style for many years of wear and enjoyment.

If you are on the hunt for quality leather clothing, remember that genuine leather is different from quality leather. Surprisingly, our basic human senses are not too bad at judging leather quality, so, make sure you take your time to look and assess the craftsmanship, take in the smell of leather, and finally touch and feel the leather garment against your skin. When you find that powerful little leather jacket, rest assured that unlike many other materials, quality leather will age incredibly well with time and with each wear.

I want to give a special thank you to my dear friend Sarah for posing and giving me plenty of ideas for my future leather jacket =)
