Back to Work, Back to Basics

With summer holidays coming to an end, going back to work has become the unavoidable reality for many. One of the things that helps to put me in the right frame of mind for work is selecting the appropriate attire, especially for the first day back in the office. The right outfit can really set a great tone for the rest of the year!

When it comes to office wear, many people opt for shirts and suits because they are generally a very safe and wise option. This is especially true for white shirts and black suits. When worn together, you look sharp, clean and professional. It ticks all the right boxes, right? Agreed, except........sometimes, we just want some thing a little more interesting, but still presentable! :)

When it comes to office/work wear, I have always loved simple and clean lines. Over the years, well-cut classic shirts and tailored suits have made their way into my wardrobe. The quest for a great shirt has always been a challenge. The cut, colour and texture all have to be in perfect harmony in order to achieve the best result.

I love this shirt. It's fresh and great to wear in summer months because it has the right balance of colours and really fun patterns. The Egyptian cotton is relatively thinner, so it allows for the skin to breath and is ideal for hotter temperatures. To bring out the calming blue tone, I paired it with tailored navy suit pants.
