In the beginning...

Welcome to my fashion diary everyone! =)

Australia is a truly beautiful country. We are so lucky to be able to embrace wonderful weather all year around, be surrounded by an endless stretch of coastline, and house a large variety of beautiful national fauna and flora.

Whilst we are really quite special – being the only continent and country – in the world, we are located in the southern hemisphere, far away from most fashion capitals of the world. This also means our seasons are completely opposite to most of the world, which makes following the latest catwalk trends slightly more difficult (due to the 6 months time lag), unless you are prepared to put on your killer knee high boots and opulent fur coats in the middle of summer?!

It is also true that whilst local Australian designers are plentiful, and many are very talented, the price of fashion really does come with a steep price tag. This is especially true when we compare our local fashion prices to many overseas destinations. So what should a girl do when finances/resources are limited?

Over the years, I have personally tried and tested various shopping avenues: in-store, online, overseas, markets, vintage stores, auctions, custom made, custom designed...you name it, I’ve done it. I’ve spent many years doing the bulk of my shopping overseas, believing that the assortment/range, availability and sizing will be much better. However, with globalisation and ebay only clicks away, shopping is becoming a lot easier and “wallet friendly”.

Thanks for dropping by! I’m looking forward to sharing and trading shopping tips with you all!
