Golden Feathers as Statement Necklace

In the spirit of celebration, I would like to introduce to you - the statement necklace. The human love affair with all things sparkly and beautiful is a long one, so when hubby presented to me this necklace (yes, hand picked by him), my heart skipped a beat. It was unique, intricate and beautiful all at the same time. I remember holding it in my hands, closely examining every detail of it and wondering how much work has gone in to this creation.

Statement jewellery in my humble opinion is a very powerful tool to take your outfits to the next level. I cannot count the number of times I have relied on a piece of jewellery to complete an entire look. Some times I would select my statement jewellery first, then put together an entire ensemble to complement it.

Some of the earliest statement jewellery was found in Egypt, where the most prevalent pieces in an Egyptian jewellery box included collar necklaces, dangling earrings, and thick cylindrical rings. Today, the modern day statement jewellery is big, bold and full of many elements from previous decades. We love the fact that it has become more affordable, more available, it tells you a story of the history, but most of all, we love statement jewellery for its eternal ability to make heads turn!
