Travel Highlights: Shanghai & Beijing

Hi everyone, hope you are having a great week! I'm back from my two-week Asia trip and I can't wait to share all the things I found and loved. I had such an amazing time with my family and friends, exploring all the places I have and have never been to, climbed one of the seven wonders of the world, got plenty of shopping done, and of course indulged on some of my favorite foods that I grew up with :)

I spent the majority of my time in Shanghai and a solid 4 days in Beijing to explore this beautiful historic city. In hindsight, I could do with a few more days there, but at least this means there will be a next time :P
First stop: Shanghai, a truly cosmopolitan city that's filled with busy people, an abundance of energy, bright neon lights, modern architecture and tall skyscrapers. Although I was born there, I find that I'm always a stranger in this city. It's constantly evolving, growing, changing and improving.

Beijing on the other hand has a totally different flavor profile to Shanghai. This city is made for story tellers, history lovers and cultural enthusiasts. This ancient metropolis has over 27,000 years of rich history, serving well over 30 various Chinese dynasties and today, home to over 21 million people. Of course, when you are in Beijing, there are a few must dos:
  1. Climb the Great Wall
  2. Visit the Imperial Palace
  3. Try the world renowned Peking duck!
