Leather & Lace

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend so far! I'm so sorry that it has been a while since I last updated the blog, but it has been crazy moving to a new city and a new country. It's only been a couple of weeks since arriving in NYC, but much has happened in this short span of time! My heart goes out to those affected by Sandy, wishing you guys a speedy and safe recovery!

It was such a nice day when the photos were taken for this post. Cold, but a refreshing, sunny day. I have been wanting to pair leather with lace for the longest time, and therefore have always been on the look out for this beautiful mixture of masculinity and femininity. For me, leather is tough and softening it with some pretty lace detailing is a fantastic way to achieve the perfect balance.

An all black ensemble is not normally my color of choice, but when you are playing with leather, in my humble opinion, black is generally infallible to acquire that modern and sleek silhouette. Being the color lover that I am, I opted for some bright color accents instead to break up this mono colored ensemble.

It was such a surprise, but the very next day after the photos were taken for this post, it snowed! Compared to NYC, Melbourne's winter is really mild. We don't get any snow and our coldest days probably won't drop below 5C ( 41F). What an surreal experience to see snow falling softly to the ground! Amazing! :)
