Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic Wednesday so far and looking forward to Christmas next week! I would say that NYC has given us some great winter days so far. Most days are cold, but still sunny with clear blue skies. I love to wrap myself in a fur jacket on days like these to shield from the wind and to keep warm. You will be pleasantly surprised just how much body heat fur is able to retain!
I find fur and leather to be incredibly complementary. This dynamic duo is a powerful yet chic combination in the cold. They both have the ultra luxe property that makes them not only a winter favorite on the runway and the streets, but also very practical in the elements and super comforting to wear.
When selecting a fur jacket, due to its bulkiness, I like ones where it's not going to swamp my size and make me look like a furry bear =P Having a smoother, sleeker material such as leather incorporated with the fur is a great way to break up the jacket and reduces the added bulk. You should also consider creating a slimmer bottom silhouette to counterbalance the additional volume on the top (e.g., pair the fur jacket with leggings or skinny jeans).
