Hi everyone, happy Halloween! Hope you have plenty of candy in stock and let the spooky parties begin! I haven't been feeling very well for the last couple of days and am definitely on the way to a speedy recovery. The temperature in NYC dropped significantly over the last week or so and my body was madly adjusting to this crazy weather :P My cold day remedy?...nothing like a great trench coat to warm up a windy and miserable day...and chicken soup of course! :)
A great trench is always super handy during transitional weather to shield you from the drop in temperature and the crazy wind. It's also a fabulous layering piece on top of that cute dress you are wearing, or some light sweaters. Too bad this fall we didn't really have many trench days. Feels like we jumped from summer to mild summer to cold winter. Despite this, I never go through fall without taking out my beloved trench coats (also seen here).
Over the years, I have accumulated a few in various colors, lengths and fits. In my humble opinion, no one makes trench coats quite like Burberry. The material and the quality of craftsmanship are simply exquisite, but the best part for me lies in the heritage detail of their trench coats. Going to try trenches in the Burberry boutique is like taking an art and history class all at once. You master the art of tying your trench belt tastefully, while learning the gun flap and grenade hooks are ornamental, but completely functional :P
I've paired a simple leather panel dress with this beautiful trench because I love a timeless and classic fall combination. If you live somewhere cold like me, I hope you will stay warm, rug up and stay chic!
