Going to Great Lengths

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Since the start of summer (and even spring) I have wanted to try a maxi dress/skirt. Today, being a cooler day and accompanied by a gentle breeze, I thought it would be the perfect day to sport one :)

There's something I have always loved about maxi dresses/skirts. I adore the fact that they are so comfortable, ethereal and move with such grace, not to mention elongating your frame. To me, there's something refreshing or even sexy in a floor-dusting silhouette.
I used to admire them on taller girls and believed petites might struggle to pull it off. In recent years, this idea has definitely evolved after seeing how beautiful they looked on many smaller ladies. In my humble opinion, the secret is all about the fit.
To achieve the best fit possible, try letting the maxi skirt sit on the smallest part of your waist. This does wonders to highlight your small waist (wear a belt if you like some extra emphasis), whilst lengthening your figure. The length of your maxi skirt/dress should also be appropriately adjusted so that the hem just skims the floor with the shoes you want to wear it most often with.

I hope this season you will give your beloved mini a break to try out the maxis and embrace the great length!
